November ATCs swapped and posted

November's ATCS have been swapped and posted. I got up very early this morning to make sure I could get them out! I apologise for the delay but I only returned to work last week after being off for a very long time and I have been completely exhausted in the evenings but so happy to be back at work and returning to a normal life.
You should receive your ATCs in the next few days, weather permitting, it is very snowy here today and Charlie my dog and I had a lovely walk in the snow to the postbox :-)

November Theme

First I would like to say a big thank you to you for your patience with the delay in the October swap. Jane is getting better, a little bit every day. Get better soon, Jane!
As she is still very much out of action she activated her husband to pass me on the last ATCs for the October swap. I will take photos of them and will be ready to send them out coming Monday. Thank you to all of you for the amazing ATCs.

We have received some absolutely lovely ATCs. Unfortunately it will take a wee bit longer to do the swap this month. Jane is not well, she has done her back, I am so sorry for her ... I know she is very unhappy about it ... but hopefully with lots of rest and physio and everything else she is soon back. Jane, please do take care. I wish you a speedy recovery and we miss you!

Hi there ATC Addicts!
Sorry it has been so quiet on here this month and I am also really sorry it has taken me so long to update the sidebar with the details of the swaps. Things have been pretty hectic lately and show no signs of slowing down yet! At least the kids finish School soon so we will not have to cope with the busy mornings.
I have added the details of the letters we have received for the Birthday Banner. I am happy to extend the deadline to this to the end of August if it makes it easier for people to take part, it would be nice to have as many of you making letters as possible but I understand it is difficult over the holidays.

Birthdays, Letters and ATCs...

Hopefully, all of you who took part in the swap last month will have received your ATCs now.
You will have all received a letter and a blank ATC in your envelope.

Addicted to ATCs celebrates it's first birthday this month so we wanted to do something a bit special to mark the occasion in addition to the normal swap.

There will be candy prizes to be drawn at random for 2 swap participants and we would like some help to make a Happy Birthday 'banner' from ATCs and then give one of you the opportunity to win all the ATCs that make up the Happy Birthday Banner.

We would like everyone who received a letter and card to decorate it as you wish so it can be added to the banner.

If you are able to take part in this, please leave a comment and let us know, if you can't please also tell us if you received a letter then we can allocate it to someone else.

If you didn't take part in the swap last month and want to take part in the banner project, please email us and we will send you a letter.

May's theme - House shaped ATCs

Your April swaps are on their way to you as I type so it is time to give you more details on May's swap theme. This May we have chosen something a bit different. We would like to see House Shaped ATCs.

You are welcome to use any house shape to create your ATCs as long as the finished card does not exceed the regular ATC dimensions (2.5inx3.5in).

April's swap theme: April Showers

The theme for April's swap is April Showers. I know we are all fed up with the rain but there are some aspects of rainy weather I enjoy. I have a very funky pair of stripy wellies and I love digging them out when it is raining!

As usual, you will need to make 3 ATCS. You can use any medium you like to make them, fabric, paper, stamping, digi stamps, the possibilities are endless!
I hope you will be able to join us for this swap, Petra and I look forward to seeing your ATCs and hope you will enjoy this theme.

Theme for March: Spring time colours

Hi Everyone!
Sorry we are a bit late posting the new theme. February has been a strange month what with one thing and another and I am running behind.
The theme for March is : Spring Time colours.

We want to see lovely bright cheery colours on your ATCs this month. We have been lucky to see a bit of Spring Sunshine in the past few days so we thought we would try and capture it on some ATCs....you never know how long it is going to last! You can use any image or medium as long as you use lovely bright and cheery spring colours.
We will be swapping February's ATCs in the next couple of days. We have received some truly stunning ATCs for the Valentine's theme, I know you are going to be so happy with your swaps!

January's Theme - New Beginnings!

Please accept our apologies for the delay in officially posting the theme for January's swap. I was only back at work today for the New Year and we are a bit behind! This month's theme is 'New Beginnings' as suggested by Cathy.

You will need to make 3 ATCs for the swap and as usual you can use any medium to create them.
We were planning on posting out the ATCs from December in tomorrow but it now looks as if I may be snowed in so it will be in the next couple of days.

December's theme 'Waiting for Christmas'

It is already the 1st of December and all the ATCs for November have been received. Petra and I will be swapping them and sending them out tomorrow. Our last theme for 2009 will be be: 'Waiting for Christmas'

The swap will run until the end of the month and we will post the ATCs out to you at the beginning of January.
We have already had some suggestions for some of the themes for 2010 and we will start the year with a proposal from Cathy: 'New beginnings'. If any of you have any other suggestions, we would love to hear them, in the meantime, we look forward to receiving your Christmas themed ATCs.

November's theme...Something Spooky!

Third post in one day! Please scroll down for last month's ATCs and the Blog candy winner.
Before you say anything...I know we are a few days late for Halloween, but we really wanted to do a Harvest theme and Cupcakes and a spooky theme so it was a bit of a Challenge to get them all in before Christmas! Let's hope next year we will be a bit more organised and get it right!

The theme for November is 'Something Spooky', of course this can be the usual Ghouls, Ghosties and general Halloweeny fun but you could also make ATCs showing things you are scared of. I have 2 irrational phobias: frogs (even teeny tiny ones make me scream!) and I don't like plastic bags, sheets of paper/card flying around the motorway when I am driving as I think they are going to stick to my car windscreen and stop me from seeing out (very strange I know!! My hubby thinks I am nuts when I panic if I see any flying around!!!) Not sure how I would translate that into an ATC!!
Anyway, no rules as usual, just make sure we have your ATCs by the end of the month with your SAEs.

BLOG CANDY WINNER!!!

Petra had very generously provided some Candy to celebrate her Birthday in October so we did the draw this morning from all the Participants of the October swap.

We wrote out all the Participants names on little bits of paper and put them in a Cereal bowl, as this was done during Breakfast....

October Swap - an update

Hello Everyone! I thought I would give you a bit of an update as it is already the 3rd of November!

October & Harvest Time - Time for some Treats

Thank you, Jane, for posting the new theme. I also love Autumn, I like to see the change in colours. It gives you a real sense of a change of the season.

It is October and as it happens I have birthday this month. I thought it would be nice to treat somebody to a few bits which might come in handy when creating ATCs: some papers, ATCs with envelopes and a book about ATCs with some quite interesting designs ('Artist Trading Cards' by Leonie Pujol)

This blog candy is open to anyone who takes part in this month's ATC swap. At the same time we swap the ATCs, we will put all names into a hat (except mine, of course :-) )and will ask somebody to pull a name out of the hat. The blog candy will be posted together with the ATCs.

I hope you like the idea and all I can say now is 'happy ATC crafting'! Petra.

October's swap theme: Harvest

As we sent out September's ATCs today I thought we should officially announce October's theme which is Harvest. Now, I know this theme has had a few of you scratching your heads but I hope you can draw some inspiration from the photo below.

How gorgeous are these colours! I love Autumn and all the rich reds, oranges and browns that surround us when the leaves start to turn. I am looking forward to some nice walks with our Puppy through the woods and returning home to some nice warm soup and home baked bread. I love this time of the year! I hope you have lots of fun making your 3 ATCs this month and we look forward to receiving them.

Not long now...

I know there is not long to wait now but I couldn't resist sharing some naughty but nice sneak peeks of some of the Cupcake ATCs!

They are all so gorgeous and colourful and they make me hungry just looking at them! I received four lots of ATCs today so I will update the sidebar with the ones that arrived today.
Only one week to go until the end of the month! Can't believe our 3rd swap is nearly over!
Hope you are having a good week, I know some of you are ultra organised as we have already received one lot of ATCs for October...I still have some ATCs to finish for another swap this month...I'd better get crafting!

September's Swap theme: Cupcakes!

August has come and gone and so has our second swap. Thanks to all of you for taking part and making the swap a success, we are very grateful to all of you. Petra and I swapped the ATCs today and posted them off so they should be with you soon. We will update the blog with photos shortly.
September's theme is Cupcakes! Petra and I love Cupcakes :-) Petra loves baking them and I love eating them!

We are sticking to 3 ATCs again this month, no restrictions on medium used to create, you all know the rules by now so I won't go over them again but if you are reading this for the first time and would like to join us, the rules are in the sidebar or you can email us for more details.

An update on the August swap

Can you believe it? It is already the 31st of August and the deadline for the end of the Summer Treats is finally here. I hope you have all had a lovely summer full of treats. I certainly have and am now looking forward to getting back into a routine and a bit more order when the kids are Back to School next week. Uniforms are ready and bags are packed for the big day.
Our swap has grown this month with three new swappers joining us. I'm sure you will all join me in giving a big Welcome to Helene, Steph and She!
Petra and I will be getting together tomorrow to finalise the swaps and we will update the blog with all your lovely creations soon after.
Have you started your ATCs for next month? The theme is Cupcakes and we can't wait to see the yummy treats you come up with.

Hi everyone! Hope you are having a good August. We received lots more ATCs so I thought I would give you all a little sneak peek treat.

They are all fabulous as usual and I am looking forward to getting more and swapping them so I can send them out to you. I am having a quiet weekend and will hopefully get a few hours of Crafting done in between looking after our new Puppy Charlie. Hope you are enjoying some Summer treats this month!

Petra and I got together today to swap the ATCs and have now posted the swaps to all of you.
We had such a great time hosting the swap this month and can't wait to do it all again in August.

August swap theme : Summer Treats

We already announced the themes for the rest of the year a little while back but I thought I would make an official announcement. The theme for the August swap is ....Summer treats.
Well, I have just returned from a week in Cornwall and my Summer treats this holiday were all food based...cream teas, pasties, lovely Cornish ice cream and gorgeous crumbly fudge!!! Yummy!
The theme is open to your interpretation once again, we look forward to seeing what you come up with.
The ATCs you all sent us last month were just fabulous and we can't wait to receive the next ones.
We will stick to 3 again for this swap and you can choose to make them all different or the same.
Please leave a comment on the bottom of this post if you will be taking part so we can make sure we look out for your ATCs and let you know when they arrive.

Last of the sneak peeks!

I am back today from my holiday in lovely Cornwall and came back to lots of post! The last of the fabulous ATCs have arrived so here are the final sneak peeks. Can you spot yours?

Petra and I are hoping to get together in the next couple of days to do the swap and you should receive your cards shortly afterwards. Apologies for the delay in getting your gorgeous swaps out to you but holidays got in the way. ..Next month we will be able to get the swaps sent out much sooner.

Today was the deadline for our first swap. We received most of the ATCs but we heard that some are still on their way so we hope to do swap around the 10th of August due to holidays and other commitments.

Petra and I had a chat today and we have chosed the themes for the rest of the year.

This is what we came up with:

August: Summer treats
September: Cupcakes
October: Harvest time
November: Something Spooky!
December: Waiting for Christmas

I will publish the themes on the sidebar so you can refer back to them and of course they will be announced on a monthly basis as well.

Addicted to ATCS July Swap Officially launched!

Yay! It's the first of July, the first swap is officially launched. You have until the 31st of July to join in with this swap.

The theme for this month is 'About me' and we would like you to make 3 ATCs to swap.

You can use any media to make your ATCs. There are some simple rules in the side bar but mostly we want you to have fun!

An update on the First swap...

We have had a fair bit of interest in the swap and with July fast approaching we thought we would give you a bit of an update. Thanks to all of you who have contacted us about the swap, we can't wait for July for your ATCs to start arriving!

As most of you already know the theme for July is 'About me'. This can be interpreted as you wish, you may want to create an ATC showcasing your favourite hobby, your pets, your favourite place to go, your favourite colour...the possibilities are endless! You will need to send 3 ATCs for the swap. The amount may change over time, we would be interested to hear your feedback on this.

If you have any special requests for themes for upcoming swaps we would love to hear them too!

We have posted some simple rules in the sidebar and we have also created a dedicated email address for the swap (addictedtoatcs@gmail.com). Both Petra and I will pick up the emails. As this is the first swap I will send you the address to send the ATCs to.

If you are going to take part in the swap in July, could you please also leave a comment on this post as well as sending us an email?

As your ATCs arrive I will update the blog so you will be able to see they have reached us safe and sound.

We will also post a few sneaky peeks of some of the ATCs received throughout the month.

First swap going ahead in July! Theme: About me

Good news!

We have enough people interested to get the swap off the ground.

The first swap will take place in July and as it is the first one, so that everyone can get to know one another the theme will be 'About me'. You will need to create 3 ATCs, they can all be identical or each one can be different. You decide! .

There are no rules on what can and cannot be used to create your ATCs so let your imagination run wild!

If you are interested in taking part, please email me directly and I will send you the address to send the ATCs to and more details.

When I have received confirmation that you will be taking part, I will add your name to the list for that month on the left sidebar of the blog.

ATCs received will be posted on the blog before they are sent out and I can link the blogs of Participants to the Addicted to ATCs blog as well if you would like me to.

A new ATC swap

I am thinking about setting up an ATC postal swap. The way it would work is that a theme would be set each month and everyone would create 4 cards on that theme, send them to me with a self addressed envelope and then the beginning of the following month you would receive 4 card swaps!

I would run it through a blog page and post photos of all the cards received and could also advertise your Busymitts or Blog pages through the blog.

If any of you are as addicted to ATCs as I am and think this is something you would like to join in with please either leave a comment on this post or send me a message:-)

If enough people are interested in taking part the first swap theme would be set for July and you would receive your swaps at the beginning of August.

Let me know if you can think of any good themes for the new swap if not I will pick one.
